Description
Ubuntu needs to notify hardware event sound (ex insert ,fail or remove usb,ieee1394 device)
Bacause Ubuntu user may know their system what things to do (recognize fail etc..)

Personally I turn the sounds off for EVERYTHING in any OS other than music. I hate for the system sounds to interfere with the music i'm listening to at the time.

I won't vore this down tho because I can see how it could be useful.

This is very important and I agree 100%.

We may hate windows annoying sound schemes (clicks when we click etc) but having feedback that e.g. USB devices that do not trigger events (like USB wireless or bluetooth sticks) were successfully recognised and mounted is very important. Alternatively, some kind of popup could be used (but not an intrusive dialog).

If you don't like a sound, at least a pop-up or another kind of message. At present you don't immediately know if your device has been recognized correctly.
