Description
Options for newbs:

1. I've got windows or mac os installed and I want to keep them installed.

2. I've got windows or mac os installed and I don't want to keep them installed.

3. I've got windows or mac os installed and I want to keep them installed and I want my settings and transferred (ie background, favorites)

4. I've got windows or mac os installed and I don't want to keep them installed, but, I want my settings and transferred (ie background, favorites, pictures, documents)

And of course an advanced button. Or you can hide this under a beginner button.

Of course, this had better be behind an "I've got Windows or MacOS Installed" submenu -- I don't want to slog through all of these choices if I'm just doing a clean install or upgrade of Ubuntu onto a former Ubuntu system.

So sure, make it easier for the newbies, but make it easy for the people who know what they're doing to bypass this as well.

It's "Ubuntu for Humans", not "Ubuntu for Idiots"

I agree with you, cornbred.

It would be nice to have a one-click bypass of this window ("Advanced") on the Live-CD and not have it at all on the Alternate-Install-CD.

When I give Ubuntu CD's to non-geeks the most common question I get during installation is "What do I choose on this screen?" implying the screen that resizes and leaves the existing partition(s) or nukes 'em all. ;)

thank you bluecat9. I have the same issue. I would like these under a i don't know what i'm doing button! ;) I recommend ubuntu to all kinds of people but when it gets down to it I have to install it for 90% of them because they can't figure it out.

andrewfenn, this is ubuntu for humans and there is an absolute beginners base.
