Rationale
bs player 2.50 and above has it and is a great feature for people that watches movies in another language. When i wanna watch a movie on my pc, first thing i do is google for the subtitle. Using bs player this thing is done automatic.We wanna make linux easier, so, why not implement this feature

Solution #1: totem to check for subtitle automatic on opensubtitles.org

check the name of the movie for subtitles on opensubtitles.org and then just select the subtitle in the desired language.

Solution #2: Not required. Totem already has such a feature.

In Totem preferences/options you can enable the subtitles add-on which searches for subtitles of the current video on opensubtitles.org.

Once enabled, you will see an option like 'Search for subtitles' in the 'View' menu. You fire this up and it searches and shows you the list of available subtitles from opensubtitles.org. You select the best match and the highest rated which gets downloaded and the movie restarts with the subtitle.

Solution #3: More settings with another services

I think that could be an option to set up path / server, username and password to set from we want to get subtitles.

everything that I see asked for Totem is already there for VLC.

just change the default player in ubuntu and be done with it.
