Rationale
We now have many IM clients, as MSN, Yahoo, Gmail, Facebook, etc. Everytime one gets to a new machine, if one wants to use empathy, we need to configure each of these accounts to get all the contacts.
Why not having an "empathy account" which, configured on the web, would bring all these data to the local empathy configuration and synchronize everything?
What about Passwords? Using Solution #2 all passwords of the communication platforms must stored in Ubuntu One, which is not in my favor. A multi-platform client like Empathy synchronised via Ubuntu One is a great idea but should not be done with lack of privacy
I was thinking more as something to have, for example,
if one goes to a lanhouse, or some friends computer. Supposing that empathy is installed there, it would be nice if one could log into the "empathy account" and have all accounts working. I don't see how ubuntu One can fit this, it is not about having empathy configured in my machines, but about having a portable IM configuration.
For example, for any single IM protocol, i. e. MSN, one can, in any machine, log in the account and use it. I was thinking about this facility for a protocol-wide client as empathy.
