Idea #2271: Auto unmount external hard-drive/flash-drive

Description
This one might be far fetched, but here it goes anyway. Life would be a little bit easier if I were not required to unmount a drive before unplugging it, and it automatically unmounted. Would this be possible?

See

When you plug in something like a USB dongle, it should be mounted synchronously (-o sync) instead of in buffered mode. This way, data would be written to the device immediately rather than being cached. This would greatly reduce the risk of data loss if you remove a flash drive without unmounting it. This is how Windows does it too, btw.

Thanks, that's exactly what I would like.

Duplicates shouldn't be marked down simply cause they are duplicates, as I understand it the votes are merged into the original, so marking it down could possibly damage the original.
