Rationale
At the moment there are more than one account used for the Ubuntu websites. The account that is used the most is Launchpad. I suggest to create something like Google Account for Ubuntu. Everyone can register at the part of the website they want to participate(Launchpad for example) and afterwards extend it so he can use the functions of Ubuntu QA.
Together with idea #1431, this could improve the community a lot.
Integrating ubuntu forums, brainstorm, launchpad, and providing an API for the LoCo sites would be great.

Yeah, if LoCo sites could use it too, that would be great. You could see in a blink where the person is involved in and the sources for the karma could be extended, so that people who help Ubuntu without using Launchpad (very much) would also get karma to prove their experience.
I was just thinking how silly it was that I had to create yet another account just to vote and comment on ideastorm.ubuntu.com...why not let me use my launchpad account and spare me the tedious registration process?

Although someone stated in the bug I proposed as a duplicate of this bug that idea http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/item/9/ is a duplicate of this bug, I don't agree. OpenID is something different, one account for the whole internet. If you don't use OpenID you'd still have to register at all separate parts.
