Idea #21027: Sharing Internet and network configuration automatically.

Written by nq6 the 12 Aug 09 at 14:01. Category: Usability. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
The new user can not share your internet with other computers or put two computers with Ubuntu in a network easily.

This is not simple for a new user. Install packages, use the terminal, set the ip manually, type in the link of the Nautilus Ip of the other machine.

The idea is to simplify the life of the user making this process automatic.

I must say the idea *looks* very nice. However, I think it would be a good thing to restructure it into the problem--solution convention, and also try to avoid all the current duplication... Preferably keep the idea short (Make it short and clear WHAT you are voting on). and maybe leave the commands etc. as a comment.

On another note, This is probably a duplicate and/or could use merging into:

@ arand:

Great catch. Set as duplicate of #4.

I like the idea, except for the samba part. (so -1), but the network sharing idea is great stuff. I'll vote #2 gladly (if it's #1 submited without the file and printer sharing deamon)
