Outside internet access to internet users behind firewalls need more than one proxy sometimes. For example, a censured internet user behind Websense may need the local network proxy to access the filtered internet, but may need to use a secondary (or more) proxy to access to uncensored web-related data.

In System -> Preferences -> Network Proxy, users have the option of entering only one proxy to access the internet. This is the current setup for all variants of Ubuntu, such as Kubuntu.
