Idea #2085: Integrated Search Tool (Replacement for Strigi)

Written by mrClass the 1 Mar 08 at 09:08. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
It should be nice to have a searchtool in the KDE/Gnome menu. In my opinion strigi lacks a nice user interface and locate can only be used in the terminal.

This could also be a none indexing search tool.

KDE 4 provides this as standard. Probably no point in fixing it for KDE3 at this point.

I thought Gnome added a search applet.

Its on my gnome panel, so it must be there.

Gnome has tracker integration at least already.
