While it is true that I use htop more often than top, I do not see the point of "replacing" one with the other.
top may not have all the funny colors but it's actually more complete than htop. try reading the manual page and see for yourself.

Right, htop should just be installed by default, but should not replace top. Look at all the problems linking /bin/sh to dash instead of bash causes.
