Its true Brasero does have a few bugs, but it has room for improvement, keep working on it (use launchpad) to make it want we want.

Solution #3:
Remove Brasero and let other dedicated apps do the work

If I want to burn an iso, I can use Nautilus. If I want to burn some music to CD, I can use Rythmbox, etc. What does Brasero do that other apps do not.

Solution #4:
Use Gnome Baker

Gnome Baker is about as sophisticated as K3B, and uses GTK.

Changed category to multimedia and changed tags.
I personally prefer k3b over brasero, I just worry that it may require too many kde libraries and make the install base too big.
Does anyone know how many kde libraries k3b requires on a fresh ubuntu install?
I agree with Darwin, k3b needs kde libraries.
@Maxime7101 - yes..
But .. maybe possible to adjust the k3b to gnome?
I know this is not directly related to the Idea, but maybe this will help a bit to replace it anyway (after all the votes negative ..)
shimi.
Solution # 2 - sounds like a good suggestion.
by the way, I went to what I submitted the idea of this? Currently I have no option to burn any disks DVD, so now the software just installed my system without having anything to do with the software.. so is serious bug!

They are both great, Brasero and K3B...What i hate is having a gnome desktop (im a gnome user) mixed with alot of libraries from KDE...
I am the type of person who likes either all Gnome libraries or all KDE libraries...
Brasero follows the GNOME spirit of usability.
K3b does not - if you want a super complex burning app, you can easily get it: use kubuntu or install the bunch of kde libraries k3b needs.
Just work on Brasero.
k3b belongs on Kubuntu, not Ubuntu, and for a reason: having to add KDE libraries makes the Ubuntu install base absolutely huge. It's probably better to work on something that's usable rather than import a small app and increase the install base by that large an amount.

maybe adding a few features to brasero, can make a lot of people happier..
- CloneCD like CD Copy (I mean , everything, you know what i mean)
- Audio/Video extract tools: Audio ripping, video ripping and encoding. For that I sugest only a GUI for existing tools like memcoder, etc.

Brasero is now so integrated into GNOME CD burning that this won't be worth the effort.
Braseo works for me. K3B can't detect my BDROM drive.

Brasero works fine and k3b is not ideal for gnome.

AndrewLuecke: But they, as of today, are not interoptable, so that becomes a topic for a totally different discussion.
I must be the only one using Nero then :|
k3b is really good but I loads some Qt libraries and process that don't go away after you close k3b. I don't like that.
