Actually, it sounds a lot like Basket. Maybe you just need to switch to kubuntu ;)

I'm using Kubuntu! ;-)
But it seems you didn't try OneNote. As I said, it's not comparable.

Get programming. Ubuntu is just a compilation of software, and it can't happen unless its programmed.

Well can u describe it because... it doen't run on Linux ( I didn't tried WINE so... wouldn't bet that it doesn't)

How about Tomboy. Not exactly like OneNote but very close.

tomboy and basket have nothing on onenote 2007. It is sad but this is one of the big applications that really make me use Windows at my work.

Although I don't think brainstorm is the place to request this feature. This is more of a suggestion for Tom Boy notes or Basket directly.

i dont know why this is getting voted down so much. there is no good alternative to onenote. this is something the free software comunity realy lacks. +1 great idea

This just goes to show that if you refer to a Microsoft prooduct in your idea's title, you lose.

I agree, OneNote is really neat.

The people who are comparing this to basket and tomboy have CLEARLY never seen OneNote. My recomendation is to use EverNote 3. Their beta supposedly has a Linux version. A FOSS version would be nice though.

This idea might get more votes if more information on it was posted.. Please attach screenshots or product details.

This is a great idea, any new news?

I also want to have a Linux version or equivalent to OneNote.

Comparing Tomboy to OneNote is like comparing Lynx to newest Firefox.

Basket comes half way close to OneNote but missing many fetures like:
- printing to it
- pages within baskets
- drawing elements
- circles, rectangles,...
- freehand
- searching everything (all notes, baskets, text in images,...) for a word or phrase
and that's just the beginning

I have to agree that there is nothing in Linux to touch OneNote in functionality, ease of use and usefulness. Dont ask me to describe it, go and use it to see what we mean. If it cannot be reconstructed in Linux then that is a serious flaw in the OS.

I can live with most of the the open source alternatives like Open Office but OneNote does get me hankering after my old Windows system.

Also the lack of a real video editing suit, but that is another story.

I know one more alternative to MS OneNote. It's Pinoeo (www.pinoteo.com). It's free and very easy.
