Idea #18488: Take Screen Shot is Quick Succession - Without Being Prompted

Written by lonniebiz the 6 Mar 09 at 22:17. Related project: Gnome. Status: New
Rationale
During online meetings, in which someone is showing you how to do something on the computer, it is sometimes helpful to take screen shots as quickly as you can hit the "print screen" button (or alt-print-screen button), without having to name and confirm each screen shot.

Solution #1: Add an "Advance" Button for Advance Configuration
Written by lonniebiz the 6 Mar 09 at 22:17.
It would be nice if the GNOME-Screen-Capture form had an "advanced" button that would open a dialog that would allow you to choose a folder for screen shots to be auto-named and placed into without prompting you after each capture.

Later, you could then go to that folder, and view all your screen captures in order.

Solution #2: Auto-save screenshot at a set destination
Written by hemanth.hm the 8 Mar 09 at 17:15.
Steps to do that :

$ sudo aptitude install scrot

Then open gconf-editor

From there go to apps/metacity/keybinding_commands

Change the value of command_screenshot
from "gnome-screenshot" to
"scrot 'screenshot-.png' -e 'mv $f ~/Pictures/'"

Use the 'print screen' button to take screenshots and they will be in your pictures folder.

Solution #3: Let the user take a video of the screen instead of a series of screenshots

As solution #1, but with a video, instead of loose screenshots.

OR
Other wise
since ppl are already used that doing Prt Scr/Prt Scr+alt gives menu then add to menu option to save also as when using Aplications Screenshot theres Zimage
and when using CTRL then dont ask but just save in last configured position
Thouse both solutions ive put in this wish list
