Idea #17674: Easier access to USB disk properties

Written by zarg the 26 Jan 09 at 13:31. Related project: Nautilus. Status: New
Rationale
Right now, if you want to check the properties of a USB disk (size, free disk space or filesystem type), then you have to open the disk in Nautilus and right-click on the background of the Nautilus window to open the properties window.
This could be done easier!

Solution #1: Right-click in Nautilus "Places" should show a properties option
Written by zarg the 26 Jan 09 at 13:31.
Just look at this picture and you will understand:
http://www.xerweb.ch/temp/brainstorm1.png

Description:
When you open Nautilus, then there's usually the "Places" bar on the left ... now, if you right-click on a USB-Device (or something) then the drop-down menu should show a properties option.
This way we could access disk size, etc. easily.

Make things as easy as possible! :-)

+1 Yes this has been both obvious and sorely needed for ever.

Yes indeed ... I just wonder why nobody has done this yet, I don't think that it would be difficult to implement.
