Description
I think it is good that it runs every x bootups, but sometimes I really need to boot up fast and at work it could get problematic.
If I could skip the process by pressing the [s] key... well, that would be good :-D
(Do USB keyboards work bye then? They do nothing at GRUB)

USB keyboards will work by then depending on your MoBo, mine doesn't even allow for PS/2 mice and keyboards.

This is already implemented in Hardy.

Modded down. It's already duplicated at least once, and is supposed to be fixed in Hardy.
The grub issue is also supposed to be fixed in Hardy, according to a post about it earlier.

You are right, It is very annoying to be forced to wait the end of the check to use my computer.
It is very a good news if it has been fixed in hardy !
