Idea #1766: Option to skip boot-time fsck while it is running

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #11: Avoid Fsck Forced Irritation.
Written by tenchi39 the 29 Feb 08 at 19:57. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: Implemented
Rationale
I think it is good that it runs every x bootups, but sometimes I really need to boot up fast and at work it could get problematic.

If I could skip the process by pressing the [s] key... well, that would be good :-D

(Do USB keyboards work bye then? They do nothing at GRUB)

Written by tenchi39 the 29 Feb 08 at 19:57.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #1766 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

USB keyboards will work by then depending on your MoBo, mine doesn't even allow for PS/2 mice and keyboards.

This is already implemented in Hardy.

Modded down. It's already duplicated at least once, and is supposed to be fixed in Hardy.

The grub issue is also supposed to be fixed in Hardy, according to a post about it earlier.

You are right, It is very annoying to be forced to wait the end of the check to use my computer.

It is very a good news if it has been fixed in hardy !
