    <title><![CDATA[Home networking is cumbersome and inefficient for inexperienced users]]></title>

    <description><![CDATA[Ubuntu still seems to move around the idea of clients and servers, and many applications do because it's a system that works and is generally as reliable as the server is.<br /><br />This is not a problem when it's used appropriately, but one thing where a server/client or a series of servers and clients should be absolutely transparent is on home networks, particularly file shares.<br /><br />I've noticed to use the Network place you have to select the computer you want to access the shares for, you have to go through several steps to do this. This greatly resembles typical use of SMB in Windows and can be confusing for people who are less familiar with networking.<br />
