I'd like to see a way for brainstorm users to submit cash bounties on ideas that they like. The bounties get accumulated (contributed up front and most likely managed by Canonical) and distributed when the idea is implemented. Whoever does the work gets the accumulated bounty. This could be extra revenue for Canonical if they do it, or for whatever developer is good enough to take on the task.
My reasoning is that I often see ideas that I'd really like to see happen; like the development meta-package discussed here: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/13596/. I don't have the time to work on it myself, but would be willing to contribute $5 to see it happen. If others are as well, then it could be a good way to rustle up some community involvement.
The problem that I see is how to determine that an idea is implemented. I think that Canonical would have to take on that task in addition to the money management.
It seems to me that this would be a nice way of paying for what I would like to see in future versions of Ubuntu. It allows me to provide a financial incentive for what I want.
