Maybe there should be a collaboration in the linux world to bring forward a universal audio format that also work on all plattforms? Right now there seem to be a jungle out there.
I can't write about it anymore, all I had to say is said on these ideas... I simply can't believe that there are people who think Audio in Ubuntu works perfectly fine... they should be blind (or deaf).
Regarding this idea itself, I'm not pretty sure if we could bring up an "universal audio format". We don't even have one only in Ubuntu. But any idea is welcome in effort to make audio issue goes on.
I voted down because I thought you wanted a new universal audio format in the sense of: unite ogg, mp3, flac and every other audio format to one universal format.
Your idea should have been a little clearer formulated. I should not have to read the linked text to understand your idea.
Hmm, but still I stay with -1 (not that I could change that) because zooounds is right: the mess is not solved by the creation of a new audio format.
Actually, maybe. I don't know much about audio in GNU/Linux besides that it's a mess. Could one of the existing formats rise to unite all or is a new format indeed needed?
There are only two formats I've ever needed: MP3 and Ogg Vorbis. I haven't found a Linux distro that doesn't support Vorbis (except the ones that don't support audio at all.)
1- People have to be more careful when writing an idea here. Maybe do a little search before starts (in order avoid wrong words and useless ideas).
2- People vote without read entire idea. If the guy provided a link explaining the idea, people should read it before vote. If you are lazy enough that you can't do it, then don't vote! Or should the guy write article again here? I don't think so...
in other words, people need more attention to write an idea and to vote on it. Ubuntu Brainstorn is a great tool wasted by careless writers and readers (and by foreigner inexperienced with English - maybe like me).
