Idea #16116: Brainstorm: Go to login page if you vote when not logged in

bug This idea was marked as implemented the 20 January 09.
Written by rouge568 the 1 Dec 08 at 19:50. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: Implemented
Rationale
I use public computers form time to time, so I am not always logged in to Brainstorm when I visit the site. However, I often forget that I'm not logged in and go ahead and read and click to vote on an idea. The page reloads, with a little banner that tells me that I need to log in. It would be simpler and save time to simply redirect to the login/signup page.

Selected solution (#1): This Idea is Done!

Thank you to all of the Brainstorm developers who released v2. This bug is fixed, and the user experience is much improved.

Yeah but with an explanation added to the login page.

This would be there in the new brainstorm release. To test out, try voting on: http://devel.ideatorrent.org/idea/3023

I'd prefer if it just didn't show the green and red arrow options in the first place if you're not logged in, perhaps instead displaying a link to the login page under the voting mechanism. Stop the mistake before it happens, as opposed to reacting to the mistake after it happens.

@tchalvakspam

Sounds good! Why not propose a new idea based on this?
