Rationale
i have been taking mandriva 2009 one o/s for a spin

when installing it from cd to hdd it lets you pick what decorator you want for the desktop be it nill, or metacity or compiz

sare does save a lot of stuffing round trying to get compiz to work after the o/s is installed

The average user should not have to worry about this during an installation. (Of course, the average person doesn't know how to install an OS, but that's another story.)

Better should be a test on first reboot to activate the highest level of graphics that the OS can attain. (Testing graphics...Did you see the bouncing red ball?) With the ability to over-ride or retest later on.

This unnescary complexes the the installation.

Also, it is a user-preference setting, not a system-setting.
