Idea #16103: Progress bar while hibernating

Written by cudjoe the 1 Dec 08 at 08:40. Category: Usability. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
On Intrepid, when I hibernate my system, the screen goes black, I sometimes see some kernel messages, and the process can last around 20-30 seconds.

I wish there was a progess bar (like usplash)...

Preferably it should be so fast that a progress bar isn't even needed. ;)

@marci003 : When resuming from hibernation, I have a progress bar actually (on Intrepid).

@fazillatheef: I have 2gb of ram, and hibernating takes like 20sec.
