Rationale
a lot of times peaple use encrypted pen-drive with LUKS

GNOME when is plug-in one, can ask the password for access to it only if is installed the cryptsetup package

else will return an error..

if some one ask why set it by default, i can answare so:

if someone go to a friend with ubuntu with an encrypted pen-drive and plug-in it will return an error..

and usually this friend is a windows convertited from you

I'm curious as to why somebody would vote down this suggestion. It makes a lot of sense to me. Or at the very least, include the necessary parts so you can set up the LiveCD to mount LUKS volumes if you need it. (That's https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-meta/+bug/217138 submitted by yours truly.)
