ndiswrapper can help you... but it can't be done for every kind of drivers(only wifi devices)
I buy my devices according to my OS. (but I still didn't vote -1) PLUS it's better if a native driver is made because it will be quicker and safer. (because it won't need a compatibility layer) (and here comes the -1)

You should obtain it from the M$ Windows drivers package.
If it's a self-extracting cab file, you may be able to get what you need using the cabextract program.
Sometimes you can find it in the "drivers" or similar folder, it it's not a cab file.

OK, download the drivers installer directly from here:
Drivers
It start to download the "CombinedInstallationWLAN.exe" file.
Open it with the file manager and extract the "XP" folder.
You must to use "rt2870.inf" file in ndiswrapper.
If you have troubles using the console, you can install "ndisgtk" package, a ndiswrapper GUI. Once installed, you can found it in the "System->Administration" menu.
I think that it only works with Ubuntu 32 bit version.

I want to encourage all the users to use GNU/Linux compatible hadware. And also I encourage the hardware manufacturers to develop GNU/Linux drivers.
For wifi cards, if there's not alternative, use ndiswrapper, it's easy.
My vote: -1

because I have a "feeling" that the NDISwrapper documentation isn't really explicit (I only read the ubuntu-fr tutorial, and it worked fine back in my days (and before my chipset was supported)).
I got my .inf files from the drivers CD provided by the card vendor. If you bought an already assembled PC take a look at it's vendor website.
And there is a lot of websites from where you can download drivers.
By the way:
.inf is a windows (text) file type that match keywords and values. and this is used by M$'s Operating system so it can find the actual driver.
