Idea #15626: Direct upgrade path between LTS releases

Written by gcleric the 14 Nov 08 at 17:49. Related project: Update manager. Status: Already implemented
Rationale
A direct upgrade path between the LTS releases would be VERY helpful for those of us that use only LTS releases in production environments. Right now to upgrade between LTS releases you have to upgrade to non-LTS release to get to the LTS release.

Developer comments
This has existed from the start. LTS releases would be pretty useless otherwise.

This already exists: System -> Administration -> Software Sources, Updates tab -> Release Upgrade. Here you can select which release upgrades you want to use.

And for servers that is where?

Look for "do-release-upgrade" on a server.
