Idea #14775: Progress Bar when installing Packages;

Written by Kenice the 24 Oct 08 at 17:55. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
In Ubuntu, when installing .deb packages, you get a loading bar that goes "left -right-left over and over. We should see a progress bar that goes from left to right sort of like its loading so we may have a clue as to when our programs are almost done installing etc. That'd be Great.

I suspect some sort of timing data would need to be embedded in the individual package for this to work..

Probably impossible (read really hard) to implement as the single package must define steps to update the progress bar.

I don't think it is worth the effort.
