Idea #14548: Accidental mouse clicks while typing

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #126: Disable touchpad while typing.
Written by ilembitov the 18 Oct 08 at 19:27. Category: Look and Feel. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
The problem is that mouse shouldn't respond to clicks while the user is typing. That is especially important in terms of laptops, since the user is likely to touch the touchpad while typing, which will swift the focus to another window or field - and the user begins typing in another window without noticing.

This is not an idea and it must be reported as a bug in launchpad.

It is an idea. It's not a bug - I don't want the behaviour that this idea requests. syndaemon allows one to easily cause the touchpad to be disabled while typing.

@wgrant
feels like I am in Arch community once again. Is it still Ubuntu, right?)

Perhaps this can help you. I have the same issues, as do plenty others, apparently. If you decide to report this as a bug, please do post a link so I can follow along :)
