Idea #14409: Allow user choice of soundfont to use with MIDI

Written by mosestruong the 14 Oct 08 at 23:36. Category: Multimedia. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
It would be good to allow user to setup a different sound font to use when playing MIDI through gstreamer. Currently it uses freepats, but some common instruments are missing.

I agree. Freepats not only is missing soundfonts, but is also very poor quality. I have to open Rosegarden to play MIDI files because I refuse to use freepats. Some sort of plugin is definitely wanted, but I fear won't be regarded as important seeing as not many use MIDI...
