Rationale
Would be nice having a better and easier webcam support, where they can be easily detected, and providing enough information from compatibility database how far is the webcam supported.

GSPCA is merged into the .27 kernel which means we should see a whole lot of webcams work out of the box.

Once again, wtf is GSPCA? Is it just a driver that is aiming to handle webcams or something?

The other thing, is UVC though, that is generic cross os support. We should be encouraging people to buy UVC webcams overall, because every OS wins (OSX, windows AND linux).

btw, this is a dupe, and I think you know that too..

And either way, its too generic, its not an idea to get them working per say. Its no more useful then asking for better hardware support
