Reliable CD/VCD/DVD-Burner needed

I am really dissatisfied with many of the CD/DVD writing programs of Linux Operating system. The problem with them is their unpredictability while copying disks. A few of my blank CD/DVDs were spoiled when I tried to copy some videos I myself had created. And so I can certainly say that it was not a matter of copyright or anything like that. Moreover, there is a need for VCD/DVD making option using linux friendly formats like ogg video files since many of the VCD/DVD players do not support ogg directly. Other features like Menu and slide show creation are qualities that our burners should possess.

This sounds like a bug or picnic. I had some trouble figuring it out at first, but it worked fine after reading some of the many tutorials out there.

Hi, I am a relative noob to ubuntu, but I have just spent the evening wasting CD-Rs using Brasero, K3b and Gnomebaker. The only software which worked flawlessly was Serpentine, perhaps this should be included as standard software for burning audio CDs? I am using Karmic Xubuntu by the way.
