Idea #1292: Trash Bin Configuration Menu

Description
In this config menu we could have time to keep files before deletion, whether or not the trash has a limited size, or whether or not items to the trash are deleted immediately (what I most want).

I commonly want to delete a movie or recorded tv show after I watch it. The downside is that since the media is on another hard drive, trash actually copies the file to my .trash folder on my main system drive and then the file sits there until I tell it to empty.

Give me a trash bin configuration menu. When I want to delete a file, I shouldn't have to open a terminal to type "rm " something.

Could also have the option to show Trash bin on desktop. (this is an option available in gconf-editor)

Shift-delete rm a file without sending it to the trash.

Edit > Preferences > Behavior > Include a Delete command that bypasses Trash

I'm confused where you started with the Edit > preferences.

Where is the edit menu? Either way, it would still be better if this were all in a unified options menu.

There should be a way to config the trash for things like:

1) Delete items after a few days
2) Only use up so much space

Another is to have a unified trash bin for the trash bins on other partitions, so things deleted anywhere go to the same trash
