Idea #12637: Change the window while you're playing in a full-screen game

Written by obZen the 28 Aug 08 at 17:30. Related project: OpenArena. Status: New
Rationale
I think that would be awesome that if there was a Key combination to change the window or minimize it, like in Windows the Alt + Tab or the super key.
Sorry for the English.
Thanks

Alt+Tab does work in Ubuntu. Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding your question.

Alt+Tab only works with the windows that doesn't capture the keyboard.I mean, with the games, that run in full screen it doesn't works

I use compiz to change beetwen desktops putting the mouse at the top left corner

I confirm that once you run for example Neverwinter Nights the whole system is locked, no alt+tab, not even the volume control keys (THAT's annoying too!)

@BadChoice,
Lucky you that can run compiz+fullscreen_app without too much problems. Besides if I'm playing, the corners of the screen are part of the battlefield like all the rest, i need them clear and clickable!

I didn't realize Alt+Tab didn't work out of fullscreen till I read this, so I immediately tried and was shocked that it didn't work. This would definitely be helpful when you just want to quickly check something without quitting your game.
