la idea en si misma no es solo para ubuntu 8.10, si no también aplicable a las demás versiones (6.06, 7.04, 7.10 y 8.04), de hecho ya esta en práctica para estas otras.
que se pueda descargar un tar.gz con los índices de repositorios de actualizaciones y otro con los paquetes estables.
razones para que no sea una idea:
-existe: packages.ubuntu.com --- bad
-existe Aptooncd -- + - bad, need another machine
-existe la conexión adsl. del rabajo y demás -- around the world? not .. Cyber some use with Windows
-existe la creencia que todo el mundo tiene una conexión de lata velocidad o acceso a un red. --- jaja

razones para considerar:

- ya existen personas que usan esta forma.
- es más fácil tener todos los paquetes sin este mensaje: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable --- good bay Error...
- es aplicable a derivados Debian y demás (Mark does not want to standardize?)
- si bien ya esta comentados en foros, es posible para os paquetes estables pero permitiría actualizar de ves en cuando el sistema.
-ubuntu makes it accessible to everyone but does not have Internet (hace a ubuntu accesible a toda persona aunque no cuente con internet)

cada paquete por arquitectura no es de aproximadamente 30 megas. En mi caso personal, en la práctica, mantengo una web donde deje empaquetado los paquetes por arquitectura y número de versión:

cada versión-arquitectura (i386, amd64 o powerpc )tar.gz

----multiverse
-----restrictive

ejemplo:

crear una lista y descargue las actualizaciones.

Esto permite tener los paquetes que uno quiera e incluso actualizar sin necesidad de contar con internet.

una de las razones que me motiva a escribir esto, que desde ya aclaro que lo vengo pensando desde que me registre en brainstorm, es que me han consultado sobre fedora offline y demás, pero estos permiten la descarga de los cd's a veces, ubuntu no.,y es bueno saber que sirve, pero sería bueno que se considere como posibilidad para usuarios off-line de ubuntu.

this is not an idea based on begging, there are several ideas that raise the use of devices and others.
To consider the idea, I started with a personal reasons, so that in due course evaluate various possibilities.

As it appears that the ideas are crazy for something in 8.10, taking into consideration not vote because it assumes that everything crazy to be included in 8.10 will be good. Apparently, everything that serves or may become a useful, even in a general sense for multiple versions is negative.

I manually upgraded offline from 6.06 to 6.10, USB-sticking the packages across from a Windows machine because my Ubuntu box wasn't allowed on the network. It took a week...and yes, it sucked. I learned a lot from the process about dependencies! And I certainly understand the need described in this idea.

But, honestly, I haven't seen a lot of interest from developers (who usually have network access) to support this need beyond updated CDs every 6 months. For most common apps, that's pretty good support, after all.

So don't count on a change in Synaptic; look for a different path to get what you want.
