Idea #12451: Brainstorm, Launchpad.

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #6307: Single login to Ubuntu websites.
Written by WolfiE the 22 Aug 08 at 21:42. Related project: launchpad.net. Status: In development
Rationale
I have joined brainstorm, and posted bugs in error. Some very helpful users have told me to use launchpad instead (thanks). My question is this, why do I have to join launchpad now ? Could the fact I joined brainstorm not also automatically entitle me to launchpad access ?

PS: If this is a dupe, please let me know so I can merge it. Thanks ssdg.

Developer comments
open ID support is coming in the future, this is a dupe.

Selected solution (#1): Auto-generated solution of idea #12451
Written by WolfiE the 22 Aug 08 at 21:42.
Ubuntu Brainstorm was updated in January 2009. Since the idea #12451 was submitted before this update, its rationale and solution are not separated. Please vote accordingly, and if you have the necessary rights, please separate the rationale from the solution. Thanks!

This is one of the things that makes Google great. I use about 12 of their offerings, and in each one - other than YouTube, it is the same user name and password.

This is what I like about Google, it is so professional.

Even if I'm not an of the way you wrote it, this is a good idea. (and maybe a dupe)

Exactly, thought of this yesterday. It should be a global account that would give access to Brainstorm, Forums, Community Support page etc.

But the problem with Launchpad is that its not an Ubuntu specific page, its recommended for any open source project.

Thanks ampers I agree, just one of those little things that makes a good service great. Biornus, does it matter that it's not Ubuntu specific ? If so, please explain why. Thanks for your comments.

i prefer a unique username and password for brainstorm and launchpad instead of an OpenID account

OpenID must be a choice, not the only choice

Thanks for your idea! This idea is a duplicate of idea 6307 (which is not about OpenID), so I'm marking it as such.
