Idea #12270: Mouse Trails

Written by Flare183 the 16 Aug 08 at 19:16. Category: Look and Feel. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
Is there a possibility to include mouse trails on Ubuntu, without involving Compiz? I would love to see this feature avaiable.

A real nice version powered by Compiz could be made that fades the pointer.

Why do you want this? I hated it from Windows.

PEOPLE!!

Stop giving -1 to every feature that you wouldn't personally use! Some people would find this useful, and if you don't want it you wouldn't have to enable it.

I have no prob with people wanting this feature, but as stated, I would like to know why it shouldn't be done via compiz.

Ghone wrote on the 18 Aug 08 at 23:42
Not that it shouldn't be done with compiz as one more toy; but considering that the feature is likely to be most useful for those with older display hardware and that compiz has its particular display hardware requirements it seems that if making this feature available for the purpose of usability, it should be available without compiz.

/IR good at grammerz.
