Written by foxbuntu the 10 Aug 08 at 03:18. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: New
Rationale
This is not a forum for humor...it is a very serious place and only legit ideas should ever be considered. No one should be posting anything even slightly humorous on this site. It should be for Ubuntu ideas only, and nothing about Ubuntu is supposed to be fun.

How can you look at "and nothing about Ubuntu is supposed to be fun." and think it's not sarcasm? haha.

I know it's not, but some people do need to loosen up. While others need to just shut up because they're not that funny. =]

Some have suggested a "Humor" category for ideas that are really more for relax ourselves.

I think we all need a break from time to time; and while you might argue that humorous ideas don't belong here, your's inapplicable as well. It's more a pledge than an idea. With the same reasoning, "philosophical" ideas like yours shouldn't be considered.

Yes, I agree, we will never be taken seriously if we are so humorous!

I'm sorry, but without humor, I'll be tracking persons that post things like:
"I use amarok as my audio player in gnome, everybody should do like me! make it default."
In order to kill them.

And what about the: I'd like to see my theme as the default?
"I don't want to see bugs, bu I don't want to help solving them", etc...

Humourous things are good for thoses who try to read every ideas, it gives me confidence in the idea that I'm not the only one complaining about thoses problems.

You can't use Ubuntu without fun, because it based on Torvald's Linux kernel, which developed under 'Just for fun!' idea :D
Please see for example http://www.thinkgeek.com/books/nonfiction/38b2/

By posting this comment You sound like the IBM type, Ubuntu is about fun and humor.

P.S. Dont take our freedoms, Linux is free as in freedom not free as in free beer.

if ubuntu isn't supposed to be fun, then why does it come with games?

Brilliant, +1, thank you foxbuntu! Your post lightened my day a little. :-)

Though, thinking about this a bit, it seems like this "idea-torrent" aka BrainStorm would be an excellent ground for humor posts. Then people get to vote up or down on them.

(PS: This was an extremely serious post + comment that deserves a great amount of attention!) lmao! :-)
