Description
Some of us would like to try out Ubuntu without breaking our main boxes, or dedicating a partition for it.

Providing a Virtualbox virtual machine image will enable us to test ubuntu without breaking existing configuration.

Please officially provide Virtualbox images of ubuntu alpha releases.

So you won't validate the installation process? (on a virtual machine, but installation anyway) I'm not fond of this idea.

I find it easier just to install a regular ISO into a VirtualBox. (Plus I did a lot of testing of the actual installation)

Bad idea, you can't provide quality feedback, the bugs you report aren't very useful.

Doing this via kvm and the vm-builder (aka ubuntu-vm-builder in Hardy) can be much faster than doing an iso install - less than 90 seconds to a ready-to-run vm image.

As others have noted, this is not good for all kinds of testing, e.g. hardware testing. But it can be great for testing server packages and many networked configurations.
