Description
With Ubuntu on Dell machines in the USA, I'm sure this means better boot times, hardware integration, sound, network are all nice and good.
Ubuntu should really be pitching to be the default install (an option for the customer) on as many PCs as possible.

These days Dell typically launches Ubuntu on new systems outside the US first. The US gets the option a few weeks later.
I'm very impressed that Dell has continued to support Ubuntu and expanded the option to as many machines as it has. Go Dell!

Yeah we need it to go world wide, if they are worried about languages I am sure Canonical could help.
Us Aussies though can just use UK where it was already released.
I also think Dell should expand it to all models, but really all this is more dells Ideastorm site. That being said I am sure Canonical could do what another big name operating system company does and offer discounts on certification if all machines are certified.

I like this idea. Unfortunately the only thing that is really going to "push" Dell is market demand. If you want a Dell with Linux (whether it be a specific model, or something in your country)- call and email them about it. Frequently.

I hope this information will be utility, In latinoamerica Dell now sales one notebook and one desktop if you call and ask because is not in the web page but for telephone you can ask for them

Will likely get there if and only if the system itself gets smoothed out. I doubt that OEMs particularly like being beholden to Microsoft.

A broader HW compatibility push would be better: how about Intrepid (8.10) on the new HP mini-notes for example? Ideal classroom stuff!
