Idea #1138: Tutorial to guide new users through their new OS

Written by Brewboy the 29 Feb 08 at 08:48. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
When you first login to windows for the first time it offers to walk you through a few things and help you set certain things up. I have met many people who have given Ubuntu a try and given up saying it can't do anything...but it can do almost anything. What if we guided people through getting codecs (particularly mp3's), flash, dvd support, and even ndiswrapper setup/installed on their computers so that the OS can actually replace what they had. Not every user has a linux guru at their finger tips... or working internet to read the forums on how to get their internet working.
