Description
My Eclipse 3.11 with JBoss tools 2.0 crashed always on ubuntu 7.10, and I try use Eclipse 3.11 classic version alone, still crash, display memory not enough.
I modified Xms and Xmx arg in eclipse.ini file, still error.
but my memory is 2G RAM, I have to used Netbeans 6.01, but it not Hibernate support.

this is said to be a problem with the sun jvm. my eclipse start-up line is:
PATH=/usr/lib/jvm/ia32-java-6-sun/bin:$PATH /opt/eclipse/eclipse -Xms128m -Xmx512m -XX:PermSize?=128m -XX:MaxPermSize?=256m
which works quite well. some people also report that the ibm jvm works fine, though i haven't tried this myself.
however, i agree with pimlottc, that this isn't the right place for this discussion :)
