"Dear Aunt, let’s set so double the killer delete select all."

Microsoft tried this, it didn't go so well. ;)

Hope we can get a better implementation then theirs.

Why do I want default voice recognition that I must promptly uninstall? My computer doesn't have a built-in mic.

It could be interesting for general commands at least. I doubt if any full-fledged dictation software is within our reach.

Maybe "should be supported" means that it isn't necessarily
"activated". Maybe it just means that it is available as an option if you want it.

Is this what you are suggesting - an option that is easy to activate.

Voice commands would be useful, even if the recognitionwas so poor only a few commands would work.

Some useful commands might be;
- check mail
- sleep
- google
- write (for word processor)
and more.

But the major application would be to have voice commands that correspond to all the keyboard shortcuts, and program menu shortcut keys.
And
Dictation with spell checker.

Just click on a button to "Activate voice options",
and tick the boxes for which system functions and programs that you want to be responsive to voice commands. Then away you go.
So easy and convenient for the user.
A bit tougher to implement the software side. But voice recognition packages are already available. So it's a case of incorporating them.
