Idea #11211: Give Brainstormers more ways to campaign for their ideas.

Written by Ubun2ideas the 16 Jul 08 at 21:57. Related project: brainstorm.ubuntu.com. Status: New
Rationale
Right now Brainstorm is a lot like playing darts. You throw some ideas up and hope some stick. Most don't. Most get lost in the shuffle. Others may get a few comments, but where does it go from there?

Brainstorm deserves to be more than a glorified suggestion box. There's definitely an audience. There's definitely interest. So where can we take that? Where does that audience want to go?

I feel Brainstorm should incorporate some of the collaborative, non-judgemental and creative-inducing aspects of a whiteboard, a wiki, or a 'traditional' face to face brainstorming session. Tags, clouds, themes, and even prototyping (in some manner) may all have a place. Maybe we need to brainstorm on this :-)

Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainstorming There's so much more to what brainstorming can be, and there's definitely more than one way of doing it -- check out http://lbs.cs.berkeley.edu:8080/wiki/index.php/The_Design_Cycle,_Brainstorming if you want to get dizzy. Companies like Ideo (think iPod) http://www.ideo.com/, make their reputation by effective brainstorming.
