Idea #1121: A way around the 1-in-30 fsck during startup

bug This idea is a duplicate of Idea #11: Avoid Fsck Forced Irritation.
Written by ubergeeknz the 29 Feb 08 at 08:31. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
How about prompting once booted (maybe after a time to let the user start their apps, get to work) to do a passive fsck in the background? If all is well, great. If something is broken, then let the user know and do a full fsck on the next reboot.
