Description
my idea is simple but i know you will like it, it is all about to replace those old default backgrounds that comes with ubuntu by default and change them all for new ones;
Now it is the time to do that, and as we know, so why not a complete new background collection! and for me the best place to find backgrounds comes from http://www.deviantart.com/ if you don't know it go to that page please, it is spectacular!!!

I would like to be able to browse these well known and popular archives out of the wallpaper-dialog and be able to add other sites aswell.

Not sure, if you thought about the same?

Yes, we should add a couple of really high-quality desktop wallpapers.
Not necessarily from DeviantArt.

Requirement: Should be free for (re)-distribution, modification, etc.

Vista comes with many very good looking wallpapers.

Would be interesting to see if maybe the Ubuntu desktop could also be integrated with something like InterfaceLIFT as a source of wallpapers. There are many very pretty, æsthetically pleasing papers up there.

Lots of sources for great wallpapers.

No reason to change default. Don't bloat my distro, man.

@cheesehead: It would be nice to just have something like what Firefox has, a link or set of links to one or more places where people are already aware that high-quality wallpapers can be found. It'd make it easier for the average computer user, though I would not personally use the functionality myself, since I usually know pretty well what I want on my desktop, and where to get it from.

I think that creating some sort of browser utility for any of the sites would not only be overkill, but too much maintenance overhead. Simple links to the places would be fine, though, I think.
