Indeed, you're right.
We will take care of that on the next redesign of the "submit a new page".
Meanwhile theses "ideas" should be redirected to Launchpad indeed. You can use https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages as a pointer on how to handle it.

Good idea, but it won't stop the problem if some users will try to force their idea.

The best solution for this problem is to make a category "Package requests" and put all this chaos to one directory. Developers can just ignore this place.

If you like my solution, please edit your idea and add it.

Sorry for non-perfect english.

Is there any feasible way to have a unified submission front-end for both Brainstorm and Launchpad?

(I imagine that it would require, at the very least, a means to join Brainstorm and Launchpad login credentials.)

My thought here is that if both BS and LP had a unified submission front end, then bugs and package requests could be directed more easily to Launchpad (where they belong), leaving actual *ideas* to be directed to Brainstorm.

I debated submitting this as its own idea, and in the end, decided to do so:

@lord_phantom

That's a good idea - maybe not the best function wise - but very easy to implement fairly quickly (I'd imagine).

It is a good work-around for any thing which is not able to be easily handled at present, which is thought to be in the wrong place at Brainstorm.

Same thing goes for bug reports, or discussions on topics, that maybe raise a problem but do not present a solution - even though they certainly are implying an invite for a solution.

@chipbennett

Good idea, even if it is not the same form that gets used, the access to the separate activities could still be cross-linked between the pages/sites, with a little help to figure out what to use.

@nand
Can you show the link to the prototyping area, here, that you've mentioned elsewhere. And maybe make a prototype available for this feature, so folks can view the screen layout, and maybe take it for a test run, and comment on it.
Thanks for your good work.

I'll update the thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=873144 ) once I got a prototype.
