Idea #1072: Picture and Video preview mode on "Open" dialogs

Written by tuseeketh the 29 Feb 08 at 07:46. Category: System. Related project: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Rationale
There are some applications like the Gimp that allow you to see a preview of your pictures when you are about to open a file.

But, in most applications, when you want to open a file you can't see a preview of the pictures (or videos, when searching the video you want to upload to youtube). That would be very nice.

Really needed!! a better open file dialog, standard for every application! and with previews of every file type!

That is one feature I've missed from Windows. As long as it wouldn't negatively impact performance all that much, sure.
