Idea #10684: Negative ideas in gray

Related to: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Description
Negative ideas should be shown in gray color.

It could be a good way to deal with "trash" and make brainstorm site cleaner and easier to read.

An intermediate solution could be turning the idea gray when it has too many negative votes (let's say -100).

-1.. I have seen many ideas which have been negatively rated that I have completely agreed with.

Every idea should be treated equal (in fact, we shouldn't even be shown the ratings).

We shouldn't try to hide negatively rated ideas because some people voted them badly, because they might be good, and the ratings might become positive

Every idea is treated equally. When you post an idea it appears with 0 votes and it looks exactly the same as a +1000 votes ideas. If most of people don't like your idea, it will go grey. That's all.

Anyway, we are not talking about hiding ideas, we are talking about changing their color when most of people have already decided that.

An intermediate solution could be turning the idea gray when it has too many negative votes (lets say -100).

What dou you think?

I know what you are saying, but even ideas at -100, I feel should be treated the same as ideas voted +1000. +1000 doesn't mean much, it just means that it was posted the day after brainstorm was on digg. ideas getting only 200 these days may have gotten +2000 back in those days.

Yeah, and ideas with -200 these days may have got -2000 back in those days.

But it's OK if you don't like this idea, but I'd like to hear some alternatives to make brainstorm easy to read though.

Cheers

It would seem that users vote down ideas just for the sake of voting down an idea.

maybe people need to improve on an idea, not just vote on it.

This is afterall brainstorm not put down some guy.
