It doesn't mean that they need our approbation to do something, it's only about discussing some ideas and get user's insights. Isn't that what a brainstorm is all about?

Could be a new category if needed, but could be any way to remark that it is a developer idea as well -like an icon or a different color for title-.

Canonical cares about what their users think because its product popularity and its incomings depends on that.
Otherwise there would be no Brainstorm at all.

voting won't get ideas implemented

some really low priority ideas got a massive amount of votes the first day the site was launched

brainstorm is only good to spot rare and cool ideas that the devs did not know off.

the system is lacking, some people just blindly vote on all the ideas they see and not on what they really need.


a few things need to improve on the voting system:

1- No blind votes. Not allowed to vote unless you review the idea completelly (both pros and cons) and follow the discussion with other members.

2- No biased voting. Can't see other people's votes untill you decide and vote for yourself.


in conclusion, the developers should not post their ideas here unless the voting system is refined.
