Description
Ok developers take a deep breath.

A DesktopGUI/WebGui/TerminalGUI (like Aptitude) for common configuration of UBUNTU machines with plugin modules for every software package outthere.

A choice to install each of the 3 seperate (for instance: a server doesn't need a DesktopGUI and perhaps also not a WebGUI)

AND make it also possible to connect a DesktopGUI over SSH to a remote system (desktop or server) as a remote assistance tool without using all the VNC bandwidth.

this would make a nice remote control possible eventually with backup and rollback of the settings and comparison tools and perhaps even more. This could even include hardware info of the remote system like disk usage, CPU, memory, the temperatures, number of connections, last boot, uptime, system log, etc.

*** But please do not forget the Aptitude style GUI ***

You can have Landscape from Canonical.
Whether it should be gratis or not is another discussion (elsewhere)

Hmm, this is odd. Ok i understand that Canonical needs to make some money and that support is the way to do that. Though, I'd like to be able to do something like this on my own machines too. So i wonder when there will be a Landscape OpenSourceEdition. OR free for personal usage.

Thx for pointing me to this!
