Description
english:
ubuntu that would be good to also have a control panel where they are located all possible configurations and modifications to the system. A panel style YaST ( http://www.novell.com/products/opensuse/img/yast/sm/yast_hw.png ). People coming from other operating systems are accustomed to a control panel and ubuntu have not, and Do not think that should have?. would be nice to have it because they just would go to one place to resolve any errors. and also the people who come from another operating system would feel more comfortable.
sorry for my bad english
spanish:

definitely yes.
the only thing is it should be more clean than yast - don't mess up the config files.
muy buena idea, grácias, newhuntwat ;-)

Gnome-control-center, but I hate that kind of tools, so -1

(I forgot to tell what, I think this is messier than an alphabeticaly sorted menu, because, for example the screen resolution feet in appearence AND hardware properties, firewall: Internet&Network AND System, etc...
So no, I wont vote this up.

KInfoCenter in KDE does that.
But I think is more information tool than anything else.
So a "control panel" where you could "tailor" your Ubuntu to your hardware would be good.
+1

I've had nothing but terrible experiences with YaST. As long as this is just an alternate display for the controls that already exist, it'd be okay by me, but I'd rather avoid a control panel that actually functions like anything in YaST.
What if menus with submenus or items could be opened like folders? Then you could open preferences or administration and effectively have a control panel full of icons.
