Written by ibizatunes the 28 Jun 08 at 18:45. Category: Others.
Related to: Nothing/Others. Status: New
Description
Currently the only RSS feed is the BBC latest Headlines by default in firefox, it would be nice to have Ubuntu RSS feed (available from the ubuntu.com) install as well by default

Also Ubuntu RSS feed should include development release (Alphas and betas etc) so the the community can keep up-to-date with the last developments

The reason why we should have it installed
1 Informs about Ubuntu development
2 Informs about security treats
3 Informs about new products
4 Easy way to distribute information to Ubuntu users
5 Informs about beginning and end of unsupported / supported Ubuntu product

I think it should install the Planet Ubuntu RSS feed. It's a pretty good way to get *some* insight into what's going on, without constantly sitting on all IRC channels all day long.

if you want humans to use ubuntu, treat them like humans, not ubuntu junkies

I hadn't noticed Ubuntu.com had an RSS feed - it really should be added as an autodetect tag*.

But now I look at the feed it seems to be full of nothing but vulnerabilities and other technical information. Not helpful or interesting for the average Ubuntu user.

I think there is a need for an Ubuntu news feed but containing non-technical information. Hint and tips. Scheduled release dates. That sort of thing.

I think tip and ticks would be a useful RSS feed, as well as the ubuntu.com RSS feed
